Hi! My name is Anda Powers. I've been an eclectic Wiccan practitioner for more than a decade, and a writer my entire life. My first hard-published title, Amae: The Pagan Woman's Guide to Intimacy, was released at the end of March. Unfortunately, I found myself in a new city, away from the supports and community I had expected to utilize. So marketing is a challenge. But I hope that, with the help of this group, I can work through those challenges and share my perspective.
Please feel free to "reply" with your own introductions! I can't wait to meet everyone!

Pleased to meet you, Anda. Nice name. I'm Joylene, new to NothingBinding. I just published my suspense thriller DEAD WITNESS last month. I've been writing for 25 yrs. DW is my 2nd novel, my first wasn't/isn't publishable. But writing it was a great experience. I'm currently working on my 6th. I'm not in a new city, but I am miles from anywhere & finding marketing a daunting task. In fact, tho I'm thrilled to finally hold my novel in my hands, I still find myself wondering, "What was I thinking!"
Glad to be here.

How exciting! A book for both of you...more than one actually. I know what a journey that can be. I ran a yahoo writer group for 5 years. I taught marketing, self-editing, etc. Like birds pushed from the nest, two of our members are now published authors. I still keep in touch with them though time passes. I have not written a novel. I tend to be a writer and a psuedo cheerleader for independent authors.

I came here by a link from WEbook.com and I must say that site has me spoiled. But I can see there are serious writers here. I have a few short articles in print and a few unpublished books under the bed at home. I just finished For Generations, a book of personal stories about my work over the past decade as a midwife for drug addicted pregnant women. You can see it at WEbook.com where my penname is totallybatty. Tomorrow I'll submit it for voting and possible publication, so the more people who visit the better. I'm happy to meet and help other writers.
It's good to meet all of you, although Joylene, I,m familiar with from the Muse Conference Board. Congrats again Joylene! A special congrats to Anda also! Jody we all need cheerleaders, especially when the going gets tough. As for totally Batty, I'll have to check you out on web.book. It's a wonderful feeling to have your books and articles accepted. There's no other feeling like it. I signed a contract for my first two children's books at the end of September with Guardian Angel Publishing Inc. Spencer Goes To School, and Beetle Bombs. I guess they will come out sometime in 2009, but haven't been given a date yet. Did any of you buy Jerry Simmons book, "What Writers Need to Know About Publishing"? He was a presenter at the Muse Conference. It's a great book for writers/authors. His manner of writing is straight forward and easy to understand. Being so new to having something published, I'm thrilled to have his book for guidance. Go on his website www.WritersReaders.com and look at all the information free for the taking. He also tells how he started this Nothing Binding website. Nice chatting with all of you.
