In 2032, the world was divided into three types of countries according to their level of education, economy, technological achievement, capabilities, and innovations––rich, advanced, and poor. Names of the countries were replaced by corresponding numbers––first ten were rich, eleven to thirty advanced, and the rest were poor. Stella, a young, intelligent, and hard working girl, lived in Country 189 that was proclaimed as a country of lazy, stupid, and arrogant people. Everyday life was a struggle to survive, fighting hunger and extreme poverty, faced with angry mass that gets easily fooled by corrupted government, and frequently resorts to violence. Her country bankrupted, and informed the people that their new owner was the Global REN Company that opened four factories, and one of them was in Stella’s hometown. More than 30,000 people applied for the 1,500 available positions on the conveyor belt, and Stella was lucky enough to get the job. Chris Nicholson, the CEO, was a handsome, righteous, confident, and highly intelligent man. A coincidence happened one day, giving Stella an opportunity to work as his assistant. After four months, she knew what he thought at any given moment, she was his shadow, someone he could lean on, his right hand, and being so much alike, they ultimately fell in love. Working for Chris, Stella was able to experience the world on the other side of the barrier, the world she would never have seen as the poor country citizen. Emotionally and in business, their lives entangled, taking them in a completely unexpected direction. The civil war, and then the world war, will strain the last atoms out of Stella and her family. Tragedies, enormous pain, and humiliation will forever change her warm, gentle heart, leaving deep scars. Luckily, on that path of tears, there are always people who offer a helping hand, surprisingly becoming your friends; someone to lean on when you think of giving up, a hand that stops you from falling into the abyss.
