Description

A Child's Grief gives insight and information for understanding the fears and needs of bereaved children. To a child, losing a parent is like losing the world. They often can't express their grief and pain, and the adults around them are deep in grief themselves, making it difficult to help a child. A Child's Grief is a resource for bereaved children and the adults who want to help them, to comfort them and to guide them through bereavement to true healing. The subject is explored through both personal interviews with survivors, and through the data of professionals whose exprience bears witness to the needs of the grieving child. Following a fictional character, seven year old Johnny, the reader learns to see firsthand how a child is affected by the loss of a parent.
