Description

Patrick “Paddy” Francis Harrington is an Irish Catholic boy, born in 1945, growing up in Sacramento, California in the 1950s and 60s where what exists commingles with the fictive illusions he finds in life, at the library, and at the cinema. He has the gift of insight, confusedly of his Self, accurately of others. His intuitive ability to see into the hearts of others enables him to attract and accept friendship and love from an eclectic group of people of different ethnicity, various ages, and disparate social standings. Later in life, as he travels to Japan and throughout Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Singapore, while serving as a Navy Seal, his childhood experiences are precursors of the actions he takes in love and war, lust-filled sexual encounters, and bloody confrontations with death
