Description
A saga of the growth and development of a Prussian aristocrat who enters the Military Academy at 10 years of age and is forced to flee because of the results of an unauthorized duel. His journey takes him through France and the Pyrenees, where he helps a band of simple gypsies; to Spain, where he fights for the Pretender to the Spanish Throne; to Texas, where he helps Houston liberate Texas; to Old California, where he saves a Don, becomes enarmoured of the daughter, fights in the Mexican War and ultimately finds gold in '49.
