Description

Terrorism and fraudulent election practices make for great headlines and documentary films, but for FBI Special Agent Donald Corbbitt, it's all in a day's work. In the wake of one of the most exciting presidential campaigns in United States history, Corbbitt is nearly stretched to his limit as he hurriedly works to thwart widespread death and destruction with a counterattack against a group of terrorists. The terrorists' goal: terminating railway transportation along the Eastern Seaboard. High-rolling liquor tycoon, Gordon Noble, confronts both political parties. As an indepen-dent candidate, he shifts the nation's political climate by challenging ineffective leadership. But a series of threats to Noble's family, and the kidnapping of his granddaughter only increase voter sympathy and media attention. Meanwhile, political pressures force the bureau director to assign Corbbitt to investigate Noble's campaign operation. Charged with piecing together a very complicated plan of global deception, Corbbitt holds the key to discovering who is manipulating the world's most powerful elected office-and who will control the world.

Extension of Evil, recently published as the third book in The Corbitt Trilogy and penned by Liverpool author David S. Rosenberg, takes the reader into areas of high suspense as multiple threads wind their way worldwide focusing on United States political contests and terror plots conceived by persons of international origin. Throughout the trilogy, FBI Special Agent Donald Corbitt constantly foils the intricate plots of international terrorists by his ability to weave quick thinking, unique planning and the admiration and cooperation of colleagues into a successful result which thwarts the terrorist plots and saves the lives of large groups of citizens in each book. Jocelyn Hafner, met by Corbitt in the first book, No Shortage of Evil, is a Communications Specialist who figures prominently in the second book, Infusion of Evil, as well as the third and most recent book. Her skills are meshed with the action of Corbitt and his staff as they work against the evils that are threatening the existence of corporations, political figures and the country as a whole. As Corbitt and Hafner work closely together, their professional lives bring them together socially, then romantically. By the third book they are married and become parents to twins as that thread also carries the energy of a threat to Corbitt and his work. Great resolve to locate the international schemers who are plotting against the US presidential race, the blackmailing of the candidate’s closest adviser, and the kidnapping of his granddaughter also create interesting movement throughout the book. The author continues to fill the book's pages with intrigue, a variety of geographical settings with valid descriptions, and teasers of what will follow the twists and turns in the activity.
