Description
In the Spring of 1976, lost, confused, drifting like so many people then, I set off on a bicycle, alone, to discover America. That's what I thought I was doing. As I rode, what I found in the world around me slowly receded, replaced by an inner world vastly richer and more complex than I expected. I began as one kind of man, but finished as another completely.
