Biography

My novels; Teaching Between Midnight and Dawn, Midna's Farie Tale, Teach Me the Night,To Teach is Divine, Precede with Caution, Teaching Can be Murder, Dark Premonitions, A Kiss Between Midnight and Dawn, The Gargoyle Keeper, Red Ryzin, Blackwind's Song, Cycles of Change, Carousel, Loose Connections, Hidden Shadows, Renewal and Nuaduh's Revenge; are Paranormal thrillers, that deal with Celtic and Finnish legends of long ago, Ast's infamous Book of Magick, the Diary of Sir Wyatt, and lost images of both time and history. I believe my books are a fresh new take on a genre that has become typical. Not only do they bring a feel for the urban, (and when I say urban, I mean true urban lol)but they incorporate the journey of the myths themselves, entertaining, and educating at the same time. The industry is chalk full, but the voice of the minority woman is still quietly vacant. Even though the industry continues to grow each year, at the same time, the multicultural aspect is still very lacking. Each of my Novels flow along the same lines, but have their own feel for the urban, and educated. This works together to help portray the Paranormal in a different perspective. I believe by bringing a different cultural aspect into a genre that has been predominately "Caucasian", it will draw a new type of reader all together, while staying true to the "faithful die-hard fan". It's been my dream to be an author since I was a teenager, and although I'm older now and have had several different careers, it is still my #1 dream. I grew up with a Cuban father, and my mother is Native American, Puerto Rican, Irish and African-American; so culture was a huge concept in my house. I grew up listening to people like Celia Cruz, Harry Belefonte' and Tito Fuentes, with a mixture of Coltrane and Miles Davis; because this was my parents. Equally, my abuelito taught me to Salsa on his feet, and swing to big band. My family was and still is very eclectic. I speak both Spanish and English, and I embrace each of my backgrounds fully, which makes it kind of hard finding just the right niche sometimes. However, I tend to believe love is color blind, and am in love with the idea of being in love; which is why I write Interracial Romance from Paranormal, to Contemporary, to Historical. It is my express wish to show this, and hope others feel the same way. What is seen as truly Romantic, without the archaic stamp on medieval history is very limited. I'm more incline to look at it from the Romantic Period, and encompass a wide variety and tastes to whatever we deem this Romantic genre truly is. When the masses of America see Romance, it's labeled as Pride & Prejudice, EverAfter, Kate & Leopold ect. What I like about these films, is yes its true, this is Romance at its finest; but I would also say, what about Interracial Romance, Minority Romance, and any Romance where it isn't just two "Caucasian" people? The dictionary defines Romance as; A romantic spirit, sentiment, emotion, or desire. It defines Love as; a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend. But it also defines Love as; A sexual passion or desire. A person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart. And in both of these descriptions, you don't see once where Color, Race or Creed came into play. "Love is love", as the marvelously talented Boy George once said, and I believe he is completely and totally right. This is one of the things I looove so much about the Gay Community. They don't see color when they think someone is hot. I guess if you have half of the world against you, then why the hell would they subscribe to being prejudice on top of it. I love my GLBT community! Whether you're a Caucasian guy who has a thang for Sustahs, a Japanese guy who has love for Latinas, a Mexican guy who just can't get enough of Arab women, or an African- American guy who just loves some Caucasian women (vanilla lol)? Who Cares, as long as you do you, and you feel comfortable in your own skin. True love sees no color-lines, is pure in its truest form, and is only tainted when narrow minded; haters infiltrate it and make it something else. My idea of love, includes er' body! A Gorgeous Hot Yummy, is just that. And his race does not matter to me one bit! Lol ;) Sometimes identifying with the character is not all that matters, its the aspect of being taken outside of your comfort zone to experience someone else's cultural background;and their life as they see it. My next Novels out are A Slow Time to Love, and A Lad's Trousers.
