Biography
My name is Brian Beecher. I reside in the west suburbs of Chicago. Have worked in a vaiety of fiends including a hospital(non-medical), a vending supplier and a supplier of pagers. As one who has lived a roller-coaster existence I enjoy writing about people in similar situations, some with a sense of optimism; some not. My latest book deals with the dark side of office politics which has created some very unsettled situations in so many people's lives. Have also written many song lyrics, a couple of which have been demoed to music.
Inspiration
The inspirations for my stories are varied. My latest, JUDAS TIMES SEVEN, is a story of greed, betrayal and jealousy set in the modern workplace where office politics and political correctness trump reason; where petty jealousies can and often do lead to real-world consequences. Story is partly autobiographical and was inspired by my own experience.
An earlier release, THIS IS WHAT I DO, was inspired by a layoff from the corporate world, although Will, the central figure of story, is much younger than me. Mixed trends prevail in his life as he lands yet another corporate job after losing his girlfriend after she takes a walk on the wild side(he wins her back at the end), gets fleeced by another woman who crosses his path, deals with the sudden illness of his life coach, and finally finds his true calling as a high school counselor helping to steer young men and women against such life pitfalls as gangs and drugs.
A subsequent release, NEEDED NOW, is the story of a young man who gets wounded while in service to his country. Not all of the junk is able to be removed from him, and after being told that he is on borrowed time and will eventually suffer paralysis and then death, he returns home and vows to live whatever time he has as fully as possible. His girlfriend whom he marries not long before he succumbs embarks on an unlikely friendship with a woman who promotes a mobility device.
