Look and Listen
K.L. Nappier is an award winning author who has been writing professionally for twenty years. Regardless of how light or dark her plots may be (though she confesses they’re usually dark), she is exploring how the human experience can lift us up, give us hope, teach us how. First published by The Berkley Publishing Group in New York, she now writes for Double Dragon Publishing, an independent publisher based in Canada. In the late 1990's, she left the Midwest to fulfill a dream: “After my stepsons Matthew and Nicholas flew the nest, my husband Richard and I left Indianapolis, Indiana, for a four year sabbatical. We bought a sailing sloop and collected terrific friends, wonderful memories and great book material as we toured parts of the Caribbean. We’re now permanently settled in Florida, where I’ve set up my computer and haven’t stopped writing since.” Kathy writes in multiple genres. Her supernatural thriller, “Full Wolf Moon” was an early online best seller. It placed in the Draco Awards’ Final Three in the Horror Division, placed in the Kay Snow Awards and was a finalist in the New Century Awards. Her second novel, “Voyagers,” is a critically acclaimed paranormal mystery/adventure. Kathy is a featured writer in Book One of the “Twisted Tails” short story anthology, which stayed on the online best seller charts for months. Currently, Kathy is working on “Full Wolf Moon’s” sequel, “Bitten,” and she has again joined the “Twisted Tails” gang in Book Two, Volume II of the continuing anthology. Her work has been reviewed by the Gothic Journal as “stunning” and “fresh,” with suspense that “is razor sharp.” The Eternal Night Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror website calls her work “original and totally addictive.” Kathy is a member of the Tampa Writers Alliance and a founding member of the Indiana Writers’ Workshop, a sterling critique group of fiction and nonfiction authors. Even though she now lives in Florida, she remains active in IWW via cyber space. For a complete list of reviews and interviews, visit www.KLNappier.com.
"In Childhood: Edgar Allan Poe, Rod Serling, Alfred Hitchcock. They're influence is still evident in my work." "In Adulthood, at one point or another: Elizabeth Arthur, Joseph Campbell, Anne Rice, Toni Morrison, Sterling Watson, Dennis Lehane, Chuck Palahniuk. These authors, diverse as they are, are passionate writers and excel as wordsmiths. They all strive to take the reader well beyond the pale."
