Biography

Born in Liverpool, England from an Irish background, and growing up during the exciting Mersey Beat era, life was never dull. Although I trained to be clasical ballet dancer, I earned my pennies dancing on television music shows, and behinds bands in theatres. I married for the first time in the summer of 1968 and was widowed 3 months later. My daughter, the image of her Father was born in the spring of the following year. In 1971 I gave up travelling with musicians and dancers and became a full-time mum to my now, two children. From 1975 to 1990 I worked as a dance and aerobics teacher. In 1995 friends began asking me if I'd ever write about the bands, and the people I knew in the sixties and seventies...the resulting story...'Where the Cricket Sings'is my answer. Its part autobiography and part pure fiction..I left it to the readers to decide which is which!!!

Inspiration

I love James Joyce, for his wonderfully colourful decrptions, and I love the way Singe, and O'Neil, use emotional language.
