Biography
Born and raised in Baltimore,Maryland.MJ currently resides with her teenage daughter as well as several pets including Buddy.I studied commercial art for 2 years at The Professional Institute of Commercial Art and graduated in 1978.I have always loved children and they are my true source of inspiration behind my writing and illustrations.I have always dreamed about making books my entire life.What began as a hobby in making books for my nieces and nephews has now turned into a passionate career.And...I couldn't be happier!Inspiration
I have always enjoyed reading children's book to my daughter,nieces and nephew.I have always enjoyed the works of Marc Brown,Tommy Di Pola,and several others authors that are too numerous to mention.I like to scour the libraries and bookstores for hours just rumaging through the children section examining book after book.I love seeing the illustrations and seeing what type of stories are of interests to children.It's fun seeing whats out there.Favorite NB Titles
