Biography

I am an American naval architect living as an ex-patriot in Dubai, who works as an engineering manager for an Arab manufacturer of interior accommodations for superyachts and luxury hotels. My wife of thirty years and I have raised two sons. My respite from the stress of my job and the inspiration for much of his writing is his avocation of flying. I enjoy traveling and documenting the adventures with photography and journals.

Inspiration

Much of the inspiration for my work comes from flying. The idea for my latest book, The Fire Erzu of Qi' Lam, came while gliding on thermals created by wildfires in Central Florida. I find that I am able to work out characters and plot details best while participating in dynamic past times, like skating, swimming, or soaring.
