Biography

I'm a native of Colorado, having been born in the state and lived there for most of my life. My parents were of Welsh, Norwegian, and Choctow ancestry. I have worked with various American Indian tribes, indigenous peoples from the Dominican Republic and Mexico, and Hispanic minorities as a social scientist. Currently I am director of the Bauu Institute and Press, located in Boulder, Colorado. I also have a blog highlighting contemporary indigenous peoples' issues from around the world: Indigenous Issues Today and Indigenous Peoples Issues & Resources.

Inspiration

My inspiration comes from my years working with indigenous peoples and other minority groups, as well as from my time in the mountains and wilderness. I strongly believe in respect for all life - in all forms - and much of my writing is concerned with giving justice or voice to those people, groups, or situations that have none.
