Biography

Peter Plaehn studied Corporate Design at the University of Wisconsin before moving to Los Angeles. He considers writing his first novel a fun experience, mostly because he didn't realize what he was getting into. He is optimistically working on his second novel.

Inspiration

It's the oldest cliche in the book to say you write what you know, but in my case it's true: I know about family, friends, and how past events shape the present and future. Those relationships form everyday life and no matter what direction I go with my writing, I always come back to those basics. Current favorites are Steinbeck novellas, Fitzgerald short stories, comedic novels by Christopher Moore, and anything by Augusten Burroughs. I recently re-discovered John Irving and have no idea why I ever stopped reading his books; shame on me.
