Biography
AS A HUMAN (sort of), I grew up (sort of) in Sydney, Australia. My dad was a journalist and my mother an English teacher. I trained as a journalist at Central Queensland University, worked as a writer for several TV documentaries in Jerusalem, Israel, where I lived for a couple of years. I wrote three feature-length screenplays (one winning an international award), as well as various short stories, poems and newspaper articles. I was the media officer for the Central Queensland Lands Council, writing their monthly journal and interviewing Indigenous tribal elders from Central and Northern Queensland (including Palm island), recording and transcribing their life stories.
