Biography

Since childhood when I organized the neighborhood kids to produce a play, I've loved theatre, literature, and writing, subjects I taught in high school and college. I grew up in Indiana, married, and had two wonderful sons. We moved to Arizona where I still reside. My sons are grown and I’m now divorced. I have three terrific grandkids and two great daughters-in-law. Family, friends, and writing focus my life. Out of the Psychic Closet, my free newsletter, is available on tobyheathcotte.com. Inspiration

In second grade my best friend died in a car wreck. Two months later she looked down from a cloud and talked with me. Everyone told me the experience happened only in my imagination. That and a few similar events set me to the task of discovering what was real and unreal in this world and beyond. It took me a long time to learn to trust myself and to validate my interpretations of experience. My writing, both fiction and non-fiction, involves that search.
